CCBS Awards

The Capitol City Bird Society holds three prestigious honors that it grants to deserving members. Two, the Charlie Shotz Award and the Mike Beach Award, are granted yearly and the other is awarded when deserved to outstanding members of the club. In the fall, the membership is asked for letters of recommendation nomiating other members for the awards. These are then reviewed by the Awards Committe, made up of previous winners, and a recipient is chosen.

The Life Achievement Award

The Life Achievement Award was first present in 1996. This honored title was bestowed upon members who went over and above just doing a job and getting it done. They have served in nearly every capacity within the club and have continued to provide exceptional service even after being given the Charlie Shotz Award. They are valuable members who have continued to go the extra mile for not only the club, but the bird community in general. They made the club's priorities their priorities and never sought recognition for their sacrifices. They are the "Members Emeritus" and their experience and expertise are vital as the club continues to grow on a local and national level.
